Job Details
Job Purpose
To drive sales revenue by effectively selling all aspects of the Hotel and Conference Centre in the local and national market place.
To increase the share and profitability of existing accounts and secure new business across all market segments. To grow revenue from the conference and event market by researching and targeting business in competitor hotel and venues, both locally and nationally.
Working closely with General Manager, Revenue Manager, external stakeholders and all departmental Heads.
Person Specification
- Extensive hotel sales experience, preferably within the Birmingham market
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures and countries.
- Experience of working with all levels of staff/management
- Experience of researching, writing and implementing sales processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Consultation; negotiation; decision making skills
- Excellent knowledge of current hotel sales practices, processes and procedures
- Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures
- Influencing and negotiating skills
- Report writing
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to staff at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisation and administrative management skills
- Ability to operate pragmatically
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to win confidence and cooperation at all levels
- Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work to strict time constraints
- Have the desire and ability to improve your knowledge and abilities through on-going training
