- Develop a strategic Lean transformation portfolio with each site with specific CI targets that support overall Lean/CI strategic initiatives.
- Accountable for delivering sustainable results for their scope of operations (group of sites and/or business units) through coaching, mentoring and development of site Lean Leaders, and operations leadership to design Site level CI program and align LEAN/CI improvement activities with strategic (SGS) and operational (AOP) objectives
- Provide financial analysis of improvements to the management team and maintain the savings database
- This role will generate a significant multiple of invested cost across the span of control in terms of value creation (expected 5-8x).
- Implement operational balanced scorecard (safety, quality, delivery and productivity) for the designated scope. Coach and drive understanding (why), execution (how), implementation (how to) and development of (post implementation) operating metrics for LEAN/Cl projects and events.
- Support Site LEAN leaders and Site leaders in design of site level LEAN transformation roadmap, execution of local LEAN events/project, as well as leadership of global/regional LEAN events.
- Drive best practices across sites and globally across regions through scaling of PKI Lean approach and methodology as well in Lean principles, practices and tools.
- Promote and facilitate of Lean culture across all facilities through:
- Develop and document case studies within PKI for purpose of knowledge sharing and development of PKI LEAN learning library
- Introduce LEAN management systems and cell/department level Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) to manufacturing, warehouse, materials (planning/procurement), quality, manufacturing engineering, customer care and R&D (NPI/NPD/PDP process)
- Promote and facilitate skill development in various Lean tools, lean operations, and kaizen leadership through delivery of the training (to Sites and Site LEAN leaders) in support of driving continuous improvement to core measures and developing the proper foundation for our overall Lean journey.
- Note: training materials to be as provided by Global LEAN organization. Where training materials are not available, or where edits are desired, approval from Global Team is required prior to delivery of LEAN/CI content
- Training (theoretical) and Coaching (how to) of how to use LEAN to improve daily performance within operations* through regular interactions (as appropriate: leading, coaching, supporting and following) with production supervisors, operations managers, materials management (planning, purchasing, sourcing), manufacturing engineering, warehouse operations, quality and R&D teams. Coach and mentor sites in the proper use, application and execution of LEAN thinking.
- Conduct governance reviews with site Lean Leaders, ME, CI and operations heads on regular basis.
