Job Details

Details

Brain blood flow regulation is an important predictor of cognitive function. Data indicate that the coupling between brain activation and vascular responsiveness (i.e., neurovascular coupling) may reflect changes in the efficiency of the brain to function, which can be improved via habitual physical activity levels (i.e., fitness). However, further research via intervention and longitudinal studies is needed to illustrate the direct causative effects between exercise and brain blood flow and function, since the accumulated evidence to date in humans has predominantly come from cross-sectional data sets.

The overall objective of this project is to examine the effect of altered cerebral blood flow on the coupled neuronal and vascular responses in the brain (i.e., neurovascular responsiveness).

Prior experience with one or more neuroimaging techniques will be essential.
