The School of Veterinary Science has a rich history having been founded in 1936 and has a reputation for graduating self-reliant, independent and highly capable veterinarians with plenty of initiative and drive. The School has high quality facilities at the UQ Gatton Campus, providing the teaching, research and clinical infrastructure and resources to develop its strong reputation as a leading provider of veterinary training, research and clinical care. The school also maintains a small animal hospital and large animal clinic at Dayboro, north-west of Brisbane.

 

The role

The School is seeking to appoint a Veterinary Nurse / Technician to provide assistance to the Diagnostic Imaging team, through operation of X-ray and other imaging modalities in addition to support nursing services at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Gatton. This position will provide support and assistance to professional veterinary staff and will also assist in the undergraduate teaching of veterinary students in a clinical environment. 

 

The person

Applicants for this position should possess a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or Bachelor degree in Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) and ideally they should be able to demonstrate at least two years of previous veterinary nursing experience.

 

Remuneration

This is a continuing full-time appointment at HEW Level 4. The remuneration package will be in the range $59,429.60 to $63,305.88 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $65,075.41 to $74,067.88 p.a.).
