The role

The Postdoctroal Research Fellow will be based at the Nanomaterials Centre, school of Chemical Engineering and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnolgy. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary research team led by Prof. Chris Greig and Prof. Lianzhou Wang working on a majore Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Program. The research involves programs that will lead to the development of printed low-cost, ultra-thin and high-performance energy generation and storage devices. More specifically, the candidate will focus on the preparation and characterizations of functional nanomaterials, thin-film deposition, explore electrochemical properties and mechanisms, and apply advanced printing techniques for low-cost production of flexible energy generation and storage devices. There are opportunities to supervise honours, masters and doctoral students.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in chemical engineering, physical chemistry, or materials science or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Experience in nanomaterial synthesis & characterisations, thin-film deposition, assembly and characterization of electrochemical energy generation and storage devices, and excellent skills in proposal writing, scientific editing and reporting is essential. Experience in supervising or co-supervising postgraduate (honours, masters or PhD) students is desirable. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career with good general research skills, a strong methodological background, excellent analytic skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams. A commitment to excellence in health and safty is mandatory.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545.80 - $87,535.13 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408.58 - $102,416.10 p.a.).
