Train to Become an AMHP

A Local Authority which is based in London is looking to take on an experienced Social Worker within their Older Persons Mental Health service as a result of a long standing member of the team retiring. This is an integrated service which will see you work closely with colleagues from the NHS trust.

As this is a very stable service, with most members of the team being in post for more than a couple of years the hiring manager is keen to find someone who is career driven and is willing to complete the AMHP course, after which you will be warranted. The course is funded by the Local Authority and this will be offered within the first 12 months which really highlights the organisations commitment to invest in, and develop its staff.

The role will see you work with service users above the age of 65 who have a range of Mental Health issues and other co-morbidities meaning your caseload is often varied. However, you will be supported by your own manager who themselves is a permanent member of staff as well as the broader clinical specialists within the service.

To be considered for this team you should have post qualifying experience within a Mental Health team which required you to work with service users above the age of 65.
