PERFORM aims to investigate the impact of innovative science education methods based on performing arts in fostering young people engagement with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in France, Spain and the United Kingdom. A considerable percentage of European adolescents is not interested in STEM careers mainly because of a self-perceived lack of skills to deal with such topics. Overcoming the remaining distance between young people and science has never been more urgent in Europe for building a knowledge-based society

The Universitat Oberta per Catalunya (UOC) wishes to recruit a project manager to provide support to the project “PERFORM: Participatory Engagement through Scientific and Technological Research through Performance”, which UOC coordinates at a European level with European Commission Horizon 2020 funding.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing the overall project implementation ensuring that all legal, financial and administrative obligations and tasks are developed according to the rules stated in the project’s contract
  • Coordinating and supporting partners’ communication
  • Supervising the consortium financial management in collaboration with the UOC research project office
  • Supporting consortium members on periodic reporting
  • Supporting the project coordinator in managing and resolving project related issues
  • Supporting the consortium in following both data management and risk management plans of the project, as well as ethical requirements
  • Supporting management and storage of the consortium financial and research documents

 
Requirements

  • University studies (PhD or experience in research in the field of science will be valued)
  • Experience in multi-institutional and international projects (specially FP7)
  • Knowledge of project management
  • A good command of Catalan, Spanish, French and English (written and spoken)
  • Communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to work in a team


24 working days of holidays + 9 days of conciliation, flexibility in working hours, eWork

The project ends on the 31 of October 2018. Nevertheless, the person will be hired two more months (til 31st of December 2018) to prepare the final report.
