Research Associate in Aeroacousitcs

Based in the world leading research team in the Aeroacoustics and Aerodynamics within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bristol, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team developing state-of-the-art theoretical and experimental methods to investigate the aerodynamic and noise generation from airfoils at high angles of attack. The aeroacoustic measurements will be carried out in our new large aeroacoustics facility at the University of Bristol. You will develop new modelling and experimental tools, working in close collaboration with both industrial and academic partners. You will also be involved in the supervision of a PhD student working on similar topics.

This project will be in collaboration with some other partners from the University of Southampton, GE-Dowty and Embraer. As part of the project, you will share data with partners and attend review meetings to present your results. The research outcomes of this research are expected to be published in the field’s top journals.

You will have a PhD in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics (or closely related discipline) and have good experience of acoustics as well as a wider knowledge of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics.

This post is offered on a full time, open ended basis with funding up to 01 April 2021.
