Job Details

Orkestra – Basque Institute of Competitiveness is a centre for analysis and debate on territorial competitiveness.

Orkestra was created in 2006 as part of Deusto Foundation at the University of Deusto. The Institute is the outcome of the convergence between various strategic, private and public strategies, aware that building competitive societies and companies is key to achieving prosperity and welfare.

One of the most important features of the economic and social change over the last decades and particularly in recent years is technological change, and especially, digitisation. This phenomenon is becoming the backbone of transformation towards a global economy 4.0 that reshapes all economic sectors and has an impact across society and on people. Faced with this scenario, the University of Deusto aims to contribute to interpreting the digital phenomenon through various instruments.

Since 2016, the Chair in Digital Economy has addressed the challenge of digitisation from a strategic perspective as an instrument to serve regional competitiveness. To this end, it proposes frameworks for joint reflection on digitisation and its impact to contribute to economic development and social progress in the region, both from an academic and transformative perspective, and in collaboration with the institutional, economic and social benchmark actors.
