The role

To maintain an efficient and well-organised office for the Head of School (HoS) providing a high level of executive support to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and to assist with administrative and engagement functions within the school. This role will have responsibility for managing the Head’s diary, organising appointments and meetings, and organising travel arrangements as required. It is a key role managing correspondence and enquiries, showing initiative and taking responsibility for organising action or advice in response to enquiries, and monitoring the progress of work.

In addition, the role involves maintenance of several registers of contacts and contracts, and the provision of secretarial support to the School’s Executive Committee and the Industry Advisory Board.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a Bachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

You should possess secretarial experience at the level of personal assistant to a senior executive in a large, complex organisation or university, including the ability to manage complex diary and meeting scheduling, arrange overseas travel and acquittals. You should also have demonstrated a high level of computer competency including expertise in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

A high level of motivation, dedication, and initiative is essential and a proven ability to exercise judgement, tact, and discretion.

Broad knowledge of the policies and procedures of The University of Queensland, or the ability to gain such knowledge rapidly would be advantageous.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597.80 - $72,348.95 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,579.42 - $84,648.27 p.a.).
