The School of Modern Languages at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Russian from 1 September 2018. Applications are welcomed in any area of Russian studies, particularly in fields that complement or supplement the department’s current scope, including but not limited to modern Russian history, cinema, visual culture and/or cultural studies. It is envisaged that an appointment will be made at Lecturer b level (Grade J).

The successful candidate will join the Department of Russian. You will make a significant contribution to the established research excellence of the Department, you will design and teach units for the Department and additionally deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in her/his area of specialism to students across the School of Modern Languages and Faculty. You will also contribute to Russian language teaching at levels and assume administrative and pastoral responsibilities appropriate to the appointment.

Timescale of appointment:

Short-listing is planned to take place in late February/early March 2018.

You may be invited to give a presentation prior to your formal interview, as part of the final selection process. It is expected that the final selection process will be held on Friday 16 March 2018.
