Office 365 Technical Architect (Digital Workspace)

Job Details

The University of Bristol is currently carrying out an ambitious Digital Workspace Programme to transform communications, collaboration and document management at the University. We are migrating from a variety of previous systems to an integrated suite - Office 365 - and introducing new ways of working using these tools.

As Technical Architect you will lead architectural decision-making within the programme. You should have a strong architectural sense of how to design IT services which are secure, sustainable and supportable, while also appreciating organisational requirements. Your views will be influential in forming the technology roadmap for communications and collaboration at the University.

You will be working with an Office 365 (Exchange) specialist, an Office 365 (SharePoint) specialist, and a large programme team. You should have good knowledge yourself of the Office 365 suite, and see the bigger picture of how the Microsoft technologies fit together and can be integrated into the University environment.

You should have prior experience of complex IT migrations. Excellent communications skills, both in person and through production of written papers is a must.

In addition to the salary, the role attracts an annual recruitment and retention supplement (currently £7k).

Informal inquiries to find out more about the opportunity are welcome to Nick.Skelton@bristol.ac.uk

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture.  We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
