Job Details

Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching and scholarship in business, organisations and sustainable societies? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University? Do want to help lead the development of the next generation of sustainability practitioners?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated social scientist with a focus on business, organisations and sustainable societies, to lead programmes and contribute to teaching and scholarship at the highest level.

You will lead lectures and workshops across the sustainability suite of undergraduate and Master programmes that focus on business and consultancy. You will draw on cutting edge theory, industry practice and novel data sets from the sector. This will include social science field courses, research dissertations and industrial placement projects. You should have practice and/or research experience that is interdisciplinary covering areas focused on sustainable business, environmental management, environmental consultancy and/or corporate social responsibility. As such the post will continue to strengthen the School of Earth and Environment’s interdisciplinary links with Leeds University Business School.

The School of Earth and Environment requires all teaching and scholarship posts to apply innovative teaching and assessment methods and along with the latest research and business practice materials. Hence the School provides such staff with 44 days a year (pro rata) to develop, train and disseminate these methods, keep relevant knowledge state of the art and share best practice.

To explore the post further or for any queries you may have, please contact:

Professor William Young, Co-Director of the Sustainability Research Institute
