Job Details

The successful candidate will join the laboratory of Dr. Zoe Walters, who has an on-going programme of research in the area of regulation of histone modifications in paediatric cancers. The successful applicant will utilise molecular biology techniques to evaluate the role of the Polycomb Repressive Complex (PRC2) in paediatric rhabdomyosarcomas (RMS).

You will have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in a biological sciences subject, with skills in molecular biology techniques and evidence of independent research. In addition to technical knowledge and skills, you should be enthusiastic and motivated with excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of delivering accurate, timely research tasks. Experience of human tissue culture and molecular biology techniques including chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) are desirable. Skills in computing and bioinformatics, as well as handling large-scale data sets would be an advantage.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

Which focuses on world leading research into human development and the mechanisms that underlie its impact on health and disease. In addition you will work closely with research partners at The Institute of Cancer Research, London.
