As a talented Medical Statistician you will contribute to a defined area of research which underpins policy, practice, and education and makes a positive difference to health, locally, nationally, and internationally. You will join a high impact, internationally recognised team of clinical and non-clinical researchers and contribute to the analysis of large datasets to investigate cardiovascular care and outcomes. You will be based at the Medical Research Council Bioinformatics Centre. Using your expertise in advanced statistics, you will analyse large and complex data sets, contribute to research applications, funded studies and to the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts.Cardiovascular survivorship is a predominant theme in the Cardiovascular Epidemiology research group. This transcends a number of clinical disease entities including heart attack, heart failure, and heart rhythm disturbance. Of particular interest is the use of electronic health records data to investigate cardiovascular disease, its treatments and outcomes using advanced statistical methodology. Thematic considerations are prioritised to spatial and geographic study of patient morbidity, frailty, socioeconomic deprivation, healthcare utilisation, mortality and quality of life. You will have a PhD or equivalent in medical statistics, experience in the contemporary analysis of large complex datasets and an interest in outcomes research. A proven record in writing peer-reviewed publications as first or co-author in applied medical research is desirable.
