Duties and responsibilities:

Present lectures, tutorials, small-group discussions and dissection training in Human Anatomy for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Present lectures, seminars and tutorials in Human Anatomy for postgraduate students in medicine and the health professions.

Facilitate small-group discussions and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Possible involvement in curriculum development and module management with regard to modules presented to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the health professions.

Participate in the departmental research programme.

Participate actively in research projects and postgraduate supervision.

 

Inherent requirements:

Master’s degree in Human Anatomy.

Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.

Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.

A good academic record.

 

Required competencies:

Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment.

Ability to function independently, as well as in a team environment.

Ability to organise workload and to perform under pressure.

 

Recommendations:

Willingness to enroll for a doctoral degree in Human Anatomy at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.

Proven academic work experience in the higher education sector.

Experience in research and obtaining research funds.

Valid driver's license.

 

Assumption of duties:

01 March 2018.
