Duties and responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) modules in life skills education and/or economic management sciences.
Participate in the work integrated learning programme (teaching practice).
Ensure active involvement in research activities.
Contribute to curriculum development in the field of life skills, accounting and business studies.
Provide consultation sessions for students.
Work in a team with colleagues within the Faculty.
Contribute to academic coordination and perform administrative tasks related to teaching practice.
An Honour’s degree in an Educational field of study with an undergraduate degree in Life Skills, Business Studies, Accounting and/or Economics as major subjects.
A good academic record.
Teaching experience in life skill, accountting, business studies and or economics.
Knowledge of- and the ability to use Learning Management Systems (LMS) for teaching and assessment.
Familiarity with inclusive pedagogic practices and alternative assessment strategies.
Good research skills and writing abilities.
Sound interpersonal relationship skills.
Good computer literacy skills.
Master’s degree or willingness to enrol for a Master’s degree in an appropriate Educational field of study at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
One (1) year teaching experience in a higher education context.
Six (6) to twelve (12) month’s experience Experience in the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) to facilitate teaching and learning.
One (1) to two (2) year’s of in leading in-service teacher development or training workshops.
Familiarity with teaching strategies, methodologies and assessments practices used in higher education contexts.
