Job Details
The Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences is a strong faculty that has a coherent focus on health and well-being underpinned by a clear integrative theme related to preventative health and behaviour change. Furthermore, the Faculty provides the opportunity for the allied health sciences to have a strong voice and great visibility within the University.
The Faculty currently includes six schools and five research centres:
- School of Dentistry
- School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences
- School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences
- School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work
- School of Pharmacy
- School of Psychology
- Centre for Youth Substance Abuse Research
- RECOVER Injury Research Centre
- Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS)
- Centre for the Economics and Business of Health (a joint University-level centre with the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law)
- Poche Centre for Indigenous Health.

The role
The Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for providing professional advice on all health, safety and wellness matters for the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work and the School of Dentistry. The position holder is required to interact with academic and professional staff to ensure implementation of and understanding of UQ HSW systems. The role requires a sound knowledge of risks in a clinical setting and appropriate management strategies. The role is required to work across multiple locations.
The person
Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of experience/education/training. Clinical experience would be highly desired. You should have well developed organisational and time management skills, be able to take a flexible approach to your work, find creative solutions to problems and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Remuneration
This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), continuing appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207 - $79,964 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822 - $93,558 p.a.).
