Senior Assistant Officer (30 hours per week) (post level 12)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Offer academic administrative assistance to the staff and Head of the Department.
  • Assist the Head of the Department as well as postgraduate students with research administrative tasks and/or technical assistance. ·
  • Refer student enquiries with sufficient knowledge of the subject domains.
  • Manage all venue bookings, various control measures as well as assets.
  • Assist with the organisation and planning of various functions.
  • Report all maintenance queries within the department and manage follow-up procedures.
  • Capture electronic claims with regard to staff expenses, external academic or ad-hoc remunerations.
  • Organise flight bookings and car rentals for the staff.
  • Assist with purchasing and requisitions (procurement processes).
  • Perform general office administrative tasks.

    Inherent requirements:

  • Appropriatepost-school qualifications
  • One (1) year's work experience
  •  

    Required competencies:

  • Business Acumen.
  • Results orientated.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Recommendations:

  • Degree in Human Movement Sciences or other equivalent post-school qualification.
  •  

    Assumption of duties:

    01 March 2018.
