The School of Geographical Sciences at the University of Bristol invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Environmental Governance.   We are particularly interested in social scientists working at the intersection of human geography and environmental policy, politics and/or economics to complement our existing research strengths.  

The successful candidate will contribute teaching on our MSc in Environmental Policy & Management, as well as undergraduate courses as a member of Political Economy research group. Appointees will also work with one or more of the University of Bristol’s interdisciplinary research institutes: the Cabot Institute, which serves as the University’s focal point for research on global environmental change and uncertainty; the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute for Health Research; the Jean Golding Institute for data-intensive research; and the Brigstow Institute, which focusses on new ways of living and being.

 

The School of Geographical Sciences is the only UK Geography department to be rated first in every Research Assessment Exercise and the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. The School also has a long-standing international reputation for theoretical innovation and methodological excellence across qualitative and quantitative approaches to human geography.
