The project will form part of the research activities of the Polymer Group at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology which is led by Prof Andrew Whittaker. The role

The successful appointee will be involved in the synthesis, characterisation and functionalization of polymeric surfaces and block copolymers (BCPs). You will be responsible for developing a strong and productive research program in BCP chemo-epitaxy, and to supervise higher degree research students working on the project.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in polymer synthetic chemistry; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, and/or education/training. Essential to this role is extensive experience in synthesis and characterization of polymeric materials; and knowledge and experience with measurement of the properties of polymers, especially in solution, using scattering techniques and high resolution NMR. You should have fundamental knowledge of surface materials science and solid evidence of research activity in the field of polymeric materials.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for three (3) years at Research Academic Level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545.81 - $87,535.13 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408.59 - $102,416.10 p.a.).
