UQ Centre for Clinical Research

The University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR) is a $70 million dollar purpose-built facility sponsored by Atlantic Philanthropies, the Queensland Government (Smart State funding) and The University of Queensland. The building, completed in early 2008, is located at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital site, Herston, Brisbane. This site also houses the largest teaching hospital in Australia (RBWH), a basic medical research institute (QIMR), and a significant Faculty of Medicine presence, including the Schools of Public Health. The UQCCR has capacity for 320 staff with affiliation guided by research strengths, assessed by defined research quality indicators.

 

The role

The successful appointee will provide clinical research assistance to the NHMRC funded Predicting and Promoting Aphasia Recovery (PAPAR) and AMP (Aphasia recovery with Music exposure) projects, including administrative and operational support, as well as clinical speech pathology input.

 

The person

You will require either a degree with subsequent relevant experience in Speech Pathology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. You should also have experience in a clinical environment including interacting with patients with aphasia and allied health staff and you should be interested in developing good general research skills.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), fixed term appointment for 12 months at HEW level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,598 - $72,349 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $70,735 - $79,222 p.a.).
