Not If, When - The Campaign to Create Change
Competitive salary and benefits
This is a time of transformational change at The University of Queensland, having recently launched the first comprehensive philanthropic campaign in its history. The campaign will raise $500 million by the end of 2020 towards empowering student success, transforming teaching and learning, and driving discovery and impact.
UQ’s Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) is driven to using life science research for discovery, invention and application. IMB’s combination of genomics, biostatistical, biological, pharmacological and chemical researchers means the Institute can take life science discoveries from the genome to drug design and application – for health, disease and for the sustainable solutions for our cities, fuels and foods.
Over the past five years, IMB has attracted nearly $250M in research funding, leveraging federal and state government funding sources to address life research across all sectors. Research excellence and translational impact is underpinned by the quality of its internationally recognised researchers and state-of-the art facilities.
Taking an entrepreneurial approach, the Director of Advancement will lead the development and implementation of an integrated and complementary strategy in the portfolios of philanthropy, fundraising, alumni and community engagement. Integral to this activity will be the development of industry and professional relationships for the Institute to increase its sponsorship and contract research.
With experience in fundraising or a similar field, you will bring the expertise to cultivate major gift prospects and secure significant philanthropic gifts from individuals and industry. Your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills will be matched by your ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Your understanding of and passion for the mission, vision and ethos of the Institute will be key to your success in the role.
