Job Details

The School of Education is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual who can demonstrate a broad knowledge base in the field of Special and Inclusive Education as well as specialist knowledge in the areas of mental health and/or critical disability studies. Sociological perspectives on these areas would be particularly welcomed. This is a full academic role, and the post-holder’s contribution will span scholarship, teaching, research and administration.

 

The successful individual will play an active role in the school’s research community, should be able to contribute to doctoral supervision, the development of research grants, and the production of high quality publications. The post holder would be expected to actively participate in the work of one of the research centres.

 

The successful individual will be expected to join and make a positive contribution to our collegiate and creative teaching teams and contribute to the design and delivery of units on our MSc Education programme, in particular in the area of Special and Inclusive Education where they would be expected to lead the development of our future provision. They will also make expert contributions in other areas of teaching, including at undergraduate and doctoral levels, and in Initial Teacher Education, engaging with educational issues that can be approached from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
