Job Details

The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute is the biggest institution for public health, international health and tropical medicine in Switzerland. The institute with over 700 employees delivers a sustainable contribution with its research, education and services to the improvement of health worldwide.

 

Our Clinical Operations Unit is specialized in the conduct of clinical trials for poverty-related diseases in resource-limited settings. We are currently looking for candidates as a Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) (80-100%)

with finance Background.

This position is available immediately or on mutual agreement.

About the job

  • Preparation, filing and archiving of clinical trial documentation and reports according to the scope of work and standard operating procedures
  • Set-up and maintenance of the Trial Master File
  • Support of the study teams in all administrative matters
  • Handling of payments and invoices to customers and consultants. Management of internal reimbursements. Support of project team with budgeting and tracking
  • Preparation of contracts for consultants
  • Act as a central contact for the clinical team for designated project communications and associated correspondence
  • Arrangement of travel and meetings, organisation of study material

 

Skills and experiences required

  • Fluent in English and French. German is an asset
  • Diploma from a commercial school or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree in a science related field
  • Possess 3-5 years of administrative/project experience with finance tasks within a busy environment with demonstration of excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Strong skills and experience with finance tools such as SAP and/or SAGE
  • Very good working knowledge in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Previous experience in clinical research desirable with knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) guidelines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Interest in health and in projects in resource limited countries

 

The position is based in Basel, Switzerland.
