Planning Manager - take the next career step

My client is one of the most respected manufacturers of beauty products and they are looking for a Planning Manager to join their growing team.
The role has a wide variety of responsibilities that will challenge you to learn and develop skills that can be used in a more senior position, for the precise purpose of taking on that position in the future.
Some of the main responsibilities:
* Support all areas within the factory to achieve common goals.
* Benchmark and pro-actively provide industry leading improvement opportunities to enhance the factory performance.
* Accountable for the production planning and shipping of all value stream products.
* Joint responsibility with New Product development (NPD) team to ensure production plans support launch plans and items at risk are identified and communicated.
* Manage the transition of products from launch to regular, including maintaining parameters.
* Management of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and line schedules associated with the designated cell & value stream, ensure they are feasible and match business needs.

* Monitor all levels of inventory associated with the value stream and ensure that an action plan is in place to minimise the risk of excess or obsolescence
* Oversee the smooth discontinuation and phase out of products touching the value stream avoiding excess where possible and ensure communication of associated liabilities to inventory analyst.
* Review Planning DMS with Cell Planner to minimise the over and under production of items.
* Work joint action plans with the designated markets to maintain / reduce the inventory / obsolescence levels
* Manage the factory parameters as defined in the inventory policy of the designated cell, ensuring they are maintained in all systems to reflect demonstrated performance.
* Conduct regular reviews of Inventory Policies at SKU level and maintain parameters accordingly.
* Manage the reporting of up to date information on low stocks and out of stock (OOS) items to designated markets.
* Ensure the designated country Sales and operations planning (S & OP) meetings are carried out, covering service performance / forecast performance / Inventory / new initiative planning.
* Manage supply chain parameter calculation ( planning cycles , lead-times ,safety stocks ,cycle stocks) propose changes as overall supply chain performance evolves ( demand planning , responsiveness, service level )

What would guarantee you an interview:
* Proven experience of leading a team, with the ability to demonstrate management skills: setting clear objectives, feedback, communication, recognition, development of others and flexibility
* In-depth knowledge of inventory requirements
* Commercial Awareness
* Proven experience of leading transition work for planning and distribution.
* Understanding of production planning, scheduling, material supply and NPD processes
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of planning processes and systems
* Experience of transition/integrating planning systems and processes and training others
* Ability to manage a broad and complex portfolio of goods, focusing on priorities against a challenging backdrop of change
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain, logistics and distribution networks
* In-depth knowledge of SAP/R3 Systems
