USER SUPPORT CONSULTANT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be required to:

  • Professionally respond to and resolve queries via e-mails, voice and walk-in channels;
  • Provide technical specialist support in relevant online functions of the University of Pretoria to end users, prospective students and registered students, as well as internal and external clients;
  • Professionally respond to and resolve queries in such a way that service excellence is experienced at all times;
  • Promote the image of the University of Pretoria regarding Client Service and Customer Relationship Management (CRM);
  • Other related duties as required and or assigned by the Manager.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 certificate;
  • Four years’ experience in a tertiary environment or a large corporate environment handling enquiries, two of which must include administrative duties;
  • Four years’ experience in written and verbal communication in a tertiary or a large corporate environment;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook/Gmail and Internet.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • Appropriate language and communication skills;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Good organising and prioritising skills;
  • Flexibility in a constantly changing environment;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving ability.

 

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree / three-year diploma;
  • Typing skills: 30 words per minute.

 

PLEASE NOTE: All shortlisted candidates may be required to participate in relevant skills assessments as part of the selection process.

 

The total remuneration package for this position ranges from approximately R 374 993 to R 446 639 as determined by UP policy guidelines. (These amounts include the University’s contributions to standard UP benefits, namely provident fund, group life and funeral cover, but exclude contributions to medical aid, as the latter varies per employee.) UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
