Job Details
The NCC is the centre for innovation in composites manufacturing. One of seven UK High Value Manufacturing Catapult centres, the NCC plays a vital role accelerating the growth of the UK’s advanced manufacturing output, bridging academia and industry to change the world of composites manufacturing and application. The NCC collaborates with a diverse range of industrial customers and cultivates the engineers of tomorrow, working closely with a variety of universities, and others, to deliver world-class training.
The pace of growth isn’t slowing. Now with over 300 employees and an annual turnover of £25m, the NCC is undergoing a fresh phase of development with a capability acquisition program worth over £37m. As capabilities develop, so too will the breadth and diversity of the NCC's customers, their opportunities and requirements, the knowledge and experience of the staff, and the NCC's role in defining the future of composites.
The role of CEO will be multi-faceted. You will be the face of the NCC at the University of Bristol, with a strategic and commercial focus to deliver the NCC vision to fully exploit composites opportunities for UK industry, through the NCC mission. You will be responsible for the resulting growth, financial performance, quality, efficiency and most importantly the NCC reputation. You’ll inspire collaboration with industrial partners, who alongside the NCC technical experts will realise their ambition, through the delivery of innovative product and manufacturing solutions, and champion the key principles of the Centre in terms of excellence, quality and health and safety.
With an industrial or engineering background, you will be a proven leader who can engage internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to influence our complex stakeholder portfolio of customers and associates at all levels will be vital to bringing ongoing success. Ideally previous experience knowledge or experience of working with Government at all levels would also be beneficial in helping the NCC to succeed in a wider political context.
