Job Details
Working as part of the School of Engineering Admissions Team, the postholder is responsible for supporting all aspects of the recruitment and admissions process. This requires completion of a range of administrative tasks including; handling initial enquiries and acting as a frontline for the Admissions Team, supporting recruitment and marketing activities including online and social media activity and supporting the School’s outreach activity.. • Educated to A-level or equivalent standard / relevant experience with a minimum of GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English.
Previous experience as an administrator in a large complex recruitment environment, ideally with Higher Education experience.
- Ability to use own initiative and prioritise work tasks, whilst working with conflicting demands
- Ability to communicate effectively, excellent oral and written skills.
- Computer literate, in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook email systems, experience of working with databases and a willingness and enthusiasm to use new technology to support administrative functions.
- Able to organise and manage a busy workload and work with minimal supervision with a willingness to resolve situations, as well as knowing when to refer issues to others.
- Professional and flexible approach to work: able to reassess priorities and respond positively to changing requirements
- Willing to work as part of a team and provide support to colleagues
- Good sense of initiative and attention to detail with a methodical approach, able to prioritise workloads and to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy and to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, a ‘can do’ attitude, and the ability to work independently and on own initiative.
- Well-developed organisation abilities, e.g. ability to implement, maintain and initiate changes to office procedures, keep accurate records and produce status or progress reports.
