As an Environmental Studies Instructor I you will teach primarily general education courses at the undergraduate level; be involved in course and curriculum development; be expected to maintain a level of professional development/ scholarship appropriate for an Instructor I; and participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives.

Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region.

The successful candidate will have experience or commitment to the use of technology in online and face-to-face teaching. Interest in collaborating within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued professional development and service to the College and University. Preferred qualifications include experience in teaching Environmental Studies with a focus on human ecology, land use, or environmental history preferred. GIS experience also preferred.

Essential Job Duties

Teaches load of 12 contact hours per semester of undergraduate courses in Environmental Studies and related subjects.  Community, institutional and professional service in furtherance of FGCU’s mission is expected of all faculty.  Other duties may be assigned by the chair.

Appointment will be made on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available August 2019.
