(Level B) $96,135 - $113,788 / (Level C) $117,310 - $134,966 / (Level D) $140,845 - $154,965 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% may apply.

Contribute strongly in specialised teaching and research within Cybersecurity

The School of Computer Science is seeking someone to contribute strongly in specialised teaching and research in within the Cybersecurity discipline, but who can also teach in a wide range of core computer science and software engineering subjects. The School has an excellent research and industry environment in the area of cybersecurity, including close ties with Data61, and has recently introduced an undergraduate major in Cybersecurity, providing the successful applicant with great opportunities to set new research directions and contribute to teaching curriculum development.

The School of Computer Science offers high quality accredited degrees in computer science, and software engineering, has strong links with industry and a robust research ethos. The School is closely affiliated with the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, a focal point for is a focal point for fundamental and applied machine learning research. 

 

To be successful you will need:

Level B:

  • A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
  • Teaching experience or potential demonstrating both commitment and success in effective and inspirational participation in the area of cybersecurity
  • Ability to contribute to the teaching and administration of subjects (including curriculum development) within the range of subjects offered by the school
  • Ability to contribute to world class research within the research area of cybersecurity
  • High level of oral and written communication skills in English

 

In addition to the above, for a Level C, you will also have:

  • A track record of significant contribution to the teaching and administration of subjects (including curriculum development) within the range of subjects offered by the school
  • A track record of significant contribution to world class research within the research area of cybersecurity

 

In addition to the above for a Level D, you will also have:

  • A record of research excellence in the area of Cybersecurity with evidence of recent high calibre work, and strong plans for future research directions
  • Demonstrated ability to attract significant and sustained external research funding
  • Experience in high quality undergraduate teaching, and a demonstrated strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and supervision
