Job Details
The scholarship is linked to the Thematic Project of FAPESP "Therapeutic vaccine based on aDC1 dendritic cells and inactivated autologous virus aimed at viral control of HIV-1 infected individuals in antiretroviral therapy", process No. 2016 / 25212-9, coordinated by the professor Alberto Duarte (FMUSP).
For the development of this project, the researcher will be subsidized with a Post Doctoral grant provided by FAPESP, with a duration of 24 months and a monthly value of R $ 7,373.10. Financial aid equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship will be granted for expenses directly related to research activities. Candidates must have experience in virology studies, especially cell culture and molecular biology. In addition, it is desirable that the candidate has some knowledge regarding technologies related to the development of vaccine products, such as vaccine delivery and use of adjuvants, characterization of relevant epitopes to the immune response, in the design of viral reservoirs, in new generation genetic sequencing in and notions of bioinformatics in the study of HIV-1 diversity in particular.
The postdoctoral fellow (PD) should conduct research related to the development of the product, but will have the opportunity to study the genetic diversity of other isolates and primary samples, besides participating in other regular activities, such as the presentation of seminars, and the dissemination of research results. As a result of his postdoctoral research, he should also produce articles to be submitted in journals of high academic impact, as well as present him at a seminar.
