Job Purpose

To create and disseminate knowledge at a senior level through initiating and conducting significant original research and through developing and delivering undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes, as appropriate to the disciplinary area.In addition, to contribute to the department/school through management/leadership, and enterprise activities, as appropriate.Person SpecificationLecturers should have a higher degree relevant to the research/teaching area, usually a PhD or equivalent qualifications, with extensive research/teaching experience and scholarship within their subject specialism. In addition you should have a proven ability to devise, advise on and manage learning/research, with skills in managing, motivating and mentoring others successfully at all levels.

Senior Lecturers will be expected to contribute at a senior level on a sustained basis to the whole range of research, teaching, leadership and administration activities within the School. Therefore, you should have an established national and developing international reputation through significant original research work of exceptional quality and a clear record of impact, and/or designing and developing significant innovative underpinning technologies. Applicants should also have a demonstrable track record of securing funding.

Salary

£40,792 - £75,744 (Lecturer salary from £40,792 - £48,677 a year with potential progression (to £54,765 a year)). (Senior Lecturer/Reader salary from £50,132 - £58,089 a year with potential progression (to £75,744 a year)). The successful candidate will be appointed at the grade appropriate to their experience and qualifications.
