Job purpose

We are looking for an experienced and independent intermediate clinical academic in Veterinary Anaesthesia with advanced expertise in large animal research (pig/sheep) as shown by a current research portfolio and clinical log-book. The post will be 100% based at the new state of the art Translational Biomedical Research Centre (TBRC), at the University of Bristol (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/tbrc/).

TBRC is a unique advanced research facility operating under the One Health concept at Home Office, Clinical, and GLPMA standards, with an academic national network of >150 PIs. There are >15 ongoing translational research projects developing and testing new drugs, stem cells and biomedical devices in any clinical areas. The new facility, conceived as a Research Hospital, has a strong pipeline of awarded grants with senior PIs form top UK and EU Institutions providing the post holder with a unique biomedical network with which to interact and collaborate.

As clinical lead you will provide day to day clinical academic anaesthetic leadership for the TBRC. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop and lead the anaesthetic research area with new projects as appropriate to the post holder ongoing research plan. As clinical lead of a state of the art facility you will be required to undertake GLP related roles, working closely with industry to pave the way for new treatments and discoveries to address illness in humans and animals.
