Job Details
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree that combines an analytics / predictive modelling aspect (e.g. computer science, statistics, machine learning) with urban planning, urban design or architecture. They should have proficiency and/or experience in common predictive models used in machine learning software and programming tools widely used in data analysis (e.g. SPSS, SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tensorflow, etc.); 3D GIS, network analysis; data visual analytics (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, etc); excellent written and oral communication skills in English; the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
The appointee will work on transforming and automating retrospective and prospective investigation of complex multi-level, hyper dense environments, such as Hong Kong. These complex urban settings are integrated within large scale multi-modal networks that are becoming common not only in the East but also in the West.
This position is based in the University's Healthy High-Density Cities Centre under the HKUrbanLab, which is a collaboration between the Faculty of Architecture and Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine.
