The School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds is globally renowned for its teaching and research, ranked 1st in the Guardian university league tables 2018. Our laboratory technicians play a vital role in supporting academics, researchers and students, and have the opportunity to be involved in ground-breaking projects.We are looking for a professional and proactive individual to join our team and support teaching, research and general activities within our Thermofluids laboratories.You will work closely with technicians, students and academic staff to support our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the areas of heat and fluid flow, and our leading research in fluids and combustion. You will hold a BTEC level 4 or HNC or apprenticeship in a Mechanical/ Electrical engineering discipline, or have equivalent practical work experience. You will also need good knowledge and experience of manufacturing components and assembly into working experimental equipment, and knowledge of instrumentation to measure a wide range of mechanical and physical properties.
