TetraQ Research Infrastructure Centre

Operating within the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research (ODVCR), the TetraQ mission is to provide best practice preclinical and clinical testing services for clients in the biotechnology sector. The core services and expertise includes the conduct of bioanalytical studies and pharmacokinetics and toxicology studies.

TetraQ has world class state-of-the-art physical infrastructure, encompassing purpose-renovated space and leading-edge equipment within its bioanalytical facility located on located in the University of Queensland Herston campus adjacent to the Brisbane CBD. TetraQ also has a well-equipped animal facility for use in toxicology and pharmacokinetics studies located on the University's St Lucia campus.

The role

The successful appointee will work closely with our experienced immunoassay team on the Herston campus to analyse biological drug concentrations in clinical and non-clinical samples to regulatory standards. This position will have an important role in support of immunoassay method development, validation and sample analysis activities.  To achieve this goal, a team-oriented scientist with meticulous attention to detail and understanding of immunoassay analytical methodologies is required. Knowledge of quality systems would also be advantageous.  The position will be reporting to the Head of Bioanalytical Services (or their delegate).

The person

Applicants should possess a science degree with Honours in an appropriate field (biomedical sciences, pharmacology, biology), or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.  At least two years experience with immunoassay methods such as ELISA is also essential. An understanding of laboratory safety is also mandatory.  Applicants must possess good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), meticulous attention to detail, and have the capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Remuneration

This is a casual appointment for up to 12 months at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $44 to $49 per hour, plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5%.
