Grant-Funded Researcher (A) - Ramsay Fellowship in Applied Science

Level A ($85,307 to $91,425) per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% may apply.

Fixed term contract for four (4) years.

Following a generous donation, the Faculty of Sciences is now calling for applications for a Ramsay Fellowship in Applied Science from outstanding early-career researchers. The Fellowship is a fixed-term position for a period of four years full-time equivalent and is intended for candidates who have demonstrated significant potential in applied science research in their early post-doctoral years.

Under the terms of the fellowship, applicants who have had post-doctoral experience in organisations other than The University of Adelaide and are currently working overseas will be strongly preferred.

As further outlined in the Ramsay Fellowship Guidelines document (please click on the Position Description link below), a Ramsay Fellowship in Applied Science may be taken up within one of the four Schools in the Faculty of Sciences at The University of Adelaide, and the application must be accompanied by a letter of support from the relevant Head of Department including identification of the senior academic staff member who will act as the direct supervisor and/or mentor for the applicant. To be successful you will need:

  • A PhD or equivalent higher degree awarded within the last eight (8) years, or equivalent research experience in the relevant area;
  • An outstanding research record (see Fellowship Guidelines document for more detail);
  • Ability to maintain an active and innovative research program;
  • Ability to supervise and motivate research students;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Australian citizenship at the time of application.
