Job Details

The Governance & Executive Support Team is looking for an experienced Business Continuity Manager to lead and manage the incident management and business continuity systems and capabilities within the University, including tools, guidance and training.   This involves working across multiple teams and sites and with senior members of the University.

The role primarily involves providing high-level project management, policy support and coordination of business continuity to the University's Senior Management Team (Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Pro Vice-Chancellors, Registrar and Deputy Registrar & Chief Operating Officer) and the Director, Strategy, Planning and Change under whose remit business continuity falls.

The successful candidate will have experience of business continuity support and planning in a complex organisation. This does not necessarily have to be in a higher education setting. They will have a BCI recognised qualification or equivalent.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with and alongside the University's Senior Management Team, in a strategically important and high-profile role.

This is a full time, open ended post.  Due to the nature of the work, the post holder may occasionally need to be available outside of normal office hours.

For an informal discussion of the role, please contact James Sutherland, Head of Governance & Executive Support (James.Sutherland@bristol.ac.uk) Telephone 0117 42 83168.

The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Wednesday 30th January 2019.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place on 1 March 2019.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world's leading universities.
