Job Details

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Data Manager to work in the Perinatal and Reproductive Health Theme of the NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), a £21m partnership working to translate innovative basic scientific research into improvements in health and healthcare for the benefit of patients. The appointee will work in a multidisciplinary research team, led by Professor Deborah A. Lawlor, that aims to improve knowledge of how to (i) accurately identify those most likely to have a successful live birth outcome when undergoing in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment; (ii) accurately identify those at risk of adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes (e.g. stillbirth, pre-eclampsia, need to be treated in intensive care at birth) and (iii) better understand the causes of adverse reproductive, pregnancy and perinatal health.

Key roles of the postholder will be to design, develop and maintain a database for a new clinical cohort of couples undergoing IVF (the BRISTol IVf cohort (BRIST-IV)) and to support academics working in the theme with management of data from a wide range of sources. Experience of data management and database development and maintenance are essential, as is up to date knowledge of data governance and ethics regulations.

The post is offered full-time for 24 months in the first instance. Applicants wishing to work as a job-share, or part-time (50% minimum) will also be considered.

For informal enquiries please contact: Professor Debbie A Lawlor, Tel: 0117 33 10096 , Email: d.a.lawlor@bristol.ac.uk

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world's leading universities.
