Position summary

A post-doctoral position is available at the São Carlos Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (USP), which hosts the Center for Research and Innovation in Biodiversity and Drug Discovery (CIBFar), one of the Research Innovation and Dissemination Centers (CEPIDs) supported by FAPESP (The São Paulo Research Foundation). The post-doctoral researcher will join the team of investigators in Natural Products, Medicinal Chemistry, and Drug Design at CIBFar to work on the use of computational approaches to identify scaffolds and hits in databases of natural products and biodiversity for the design of new active compounds. The registration period ends on 20th February, 2019. 

The post-doctoral fellow will also investigate the integration of molecular modeling approaches and in vitro studies to select new bioactive natural compounds from the Brazilian biodiversity. Candidates must have obtained their PhD degree within the last 7 (seven) years, and have expertise in Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products, Chemical Databases and Chemoinformatics. Fluency in English and the ability to work within interdisciplinary teams are also mandatory.

The post-doctoral FAPESP fellowship will grant a monthly amount of R$ 7,373.10 (Brazilian Real) and research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which is intended for use in developed activities strictly related to the research project, during its valid period. Financial support for travel and installation expenses may be requested for the selected applicant who lives out of São Paulo and the merit will be evaluated by FAPESP upon acceptance of the fellowship.
