Introduction

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager, Quality and Patient Safety department. 

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • Assist Senior Manager Quality and Patient Safety for  implementation of AKUH Quality and Patient Safety Program
  • Ensure quality and patient safety audits are planned and conducted as per schedule in the light of AKUH Policies and JCIA standards 
  • Develop audit plan/schedule and review it on quarterly basis to ensure its accuracy and timeliness to decrease variability 
  • Analyze and prepare audit reports on monthly and quarterly basis and share it with the respective hospital department / service lines.
  • Assist Supervisor in timely review / revision of policies related to Quality and Patient safety, procedures, pathways, guidelines including multidisciplinary policies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Quality and Patient safety 
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and share audit observations with the departments.
  • Prepare and share monthly, quarterly and annual quality and patient safety reports.
  • Act as resource person for all managers particularly the service line business and nurse managers to discuss and work on the identified non compliances during clinical audits. 
  • Supervise and train QPS coordinators in QPS related clinical practices guidelines and auditing process. 
  • Plan and conduct orientation and trainings on quality and patient safety. 
  • Facilitate Quality improvement representatives of service lines and departments in quality improvement related activities of their department.
  • Serve as change agent to achieve quality, patient safety and cost effective patient care outcomes.

 

Requirements

You must have:

  • Medical or Nursing Graduate/BScN degree or equivalent qualification in a related field. 
  • MBA and / or Professional Certification in Healthcare / Quality and Patient Safety will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 to 6 years post graduate experience in healthcare setting preferably in a management role
  • Ability to break down concrete issues into parts and synthesizes succinctly along with collecting and analysing information from a variety of appropriate sources.
  • Ability to listen actively and objectively and present appropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to make straightforward decisions based on pre-defined options using clear criteria/procedures.
  • Ability to set goals and works to meet established expectations and adapts working methods in order to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to give support to team members and works collaboratively as well as share experiences, knowledge and best practices with team members.
  • Must possess information and data analysis skills to draw knowledge form data. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
