(Level A) $68,912 - $92,796 (Level B) $97,577 - $115,495 (effective 2 March 2019) per annum  plus an employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply.

Fixed term position for 3 years, with the potential for conversion to a continuing contract at the end of the Fixed-Term period.

 

Exciting New Opportunity in Animal Behaviour

The BSc(Animal Behaviour) is an exciting new academic program which commenced in second semester, 2018. The program has an innovative structure, bridging comparative psychology and ethology and providing work-based placements for students. This role will support teaching and research in the new program, and the position is suited to a graduate in Animal Behaviour or equivalent with teaching and research experience.

The role provides an opportunity to advance your teaching and research, and this  opportunity will take you to the next level of your career. The School has world leading researchers in areas from livestock genetics to microbiology and epidemiology, providing opportunities for collaborative research. An enthusiastic teaching team use current active teaching methods and provide a nurturing environment to facilitate your development as a university teacher.

You will need to be an enthusiastic, team-oriented graduate with a passion for delivering the highest standards of university teaching, and proven experience in research. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are motivated to play an important role in the development of the new BSc(Animal Behaviour) program.

To be successful you will need:

  • Degree in Animal Behaviour or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge in animal behaviour from either an ethology or comparative psychology framework.
  • Demonstrated ability in undergraduate teaching, and the ability to contribute to the development and conduct of high quality research and teaching in animal behaviour with evidence of a publication record relevant to experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds in the development of funding applications and implementation of research projects.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of teaching and research teams.
