School of Earth and Environmental Sciences

The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences delivers practical solutions to the complex issues that affect our physical environment and how we interact with it. Our interconnected teams of earth scientists, physical and social scientists, environmental management specialists, health and safety experts, and urban planners work together to address the increasingly critical global challenges of a growing population, climate change, urbanisation, food security, conservation and natural resource management. The role

The successful appointee will provide operational and administrative support to coordinate the meetings, activities and events of Earth Observation Australia, and one of its working groups - the Earth Observation for Government Network (EOGN). EOGN brings together a steering group of representatives from government agencies at commonwealth and state level to improve coordination, and reduce duplication, of earth observation activities across states and levels of government.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a degree in an applicable field and/or an equivalent ombination of relevant experience and/or education/training.  Preferably some knowledge of the environmental sciences or an interest to acquire such knowledge.

You should also have a high level of organisational, communication and administrative skills, a strong computer competency across a range of applications, and the ability to exercise initiative and judgement as appropriate.

Remuneration

This is a part-time (0.5 FTE), 12 month fixed term appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $33,173 - $37,049 FTE p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $36,324- $40,568 FTE p.a.).
