Job summary

The Molecular Genetics Laboratory of the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) provides a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the area of ​​molecular genetics for the investigation of genetic factors related to resistance to treatment of patients with epilepsy.

The approved candidate will use large-scale gene exploration techniques such as DNA microarrays, new generation sequencing and validation of candidate regions using molecular biology tools such as qPCR, Sanger Sequencing and Western Blot.

The project will also include functional assays to explore the genetic variants to be detected, and it is therefore desirable that the candidate has experience in immunofluorescence techniques, new generation sequencing (RNA) and mass spectrometry for proteome analysis.

Requirements

Candidates must have completed their PhD and present at least two scientific journals in journals of international circulation.

The registration will be from 15/02/2019 to 03/15/2019 by e-mail: icendes@unicamp.br , and it is necessary for the candidate to submit his curriculum vitae, postgraduate school history and two letters of recommendation. The vacancy is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship (in the amount of R $ 7,373.10 monthly) and Technical Reserve equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship in order to meet unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
