Job summary

As a Senior Project Officer in the Office of Academic and Student Engagement you will play a leading role in the establishment, management and execution of Divisional initiatives and projects.  

The Senior Project Officer will take an active role in the development of project plans and timelines, providing advice to project sponsors, owners and key stakeholders and writing detailed and high-level reports. Working under limited direction, the Senior Project Officer will be responsible for a wide range of complex projects that will require high level organisational and time management skills as well as an ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated project coordination experience with proven ability to independently manage new and ongoing projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information and develop detailed recommendations and solutions, and experience in collating detailed and high level reports.
  • High-level interpersonal and professional communication skills the aptitude to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and staff at all levels, including the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of data literacy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and sustain high-level performance, determine priorities, be highly flexible and meet demanding deadlines in a time sensitive environment.
  • Proven capacity to manage competing objectives and ability to act with discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience in an administrative capacity with demonstrated sound record keeping skills and advanced use of common software applications (including the MS Office suite).
