Applications are invited for a Research Associate to review, analyse and critically evaluate personal tutoring at the University of Bristol. The post will be located within the Academic Quality and Policy Office: Education Services but will be joint line-managed by Professor Kelly Moule (University Education Director, Personal Tutoring) and Dr Rachel Lart (Faculty Education Director, Social Sciences and Law - Policy Studies).

The project will involve critical evaluation of the effectiveness of personal tutorial models, including the numbers and types of tutorials, staff and student profiles, retention and progression data, training and induction, staff promotion and progression criteria, stakeholder feedback and how the personal tutoring systems work with other university support services and frameworks. The post holder will also undertake a detailed critical analysis of the literature on personal tutoring across the UK sector and internationally.

The outputs of the research will include recommendations regarding future developments of personal tutoring at Bristol and may lead to conference presentations and research publications.
