Geotechnical Health and Safety Contractor (NEBOSH Qualification Needed)
Day Rate: Dependent on Experience and Qualifications
Location: East London
Contract Length: To be confirmed
My client is a leading Geotechnical ground investigation consultancy, which is currently experiencing growth across the UK due to successfully winning large scale projects. They are now looking to grow their site investigation teams in London, with a Geotechnical Engineer who has strong site based experience in addition to NEBOSH certificate and training.
You will have the chance to work on some of the largest projects currently active in the UK. The projects you will be working on are multi million pound projects and therefore my client is looking to recruit engineering geologists with the relevant skills and experience to handle the responsibility attached to working on these projects.
Although the Geotechnical skills and experiences are of high importance to complete the project at a high standard, the client is looking for a Health and Safety professional, therefore a NEBOSH certificate and training is crucial. Although having the NEBOSH training is important, it should be clear that this would not be enough to be considered for this role, a minimum qualification of a NEBOSH certificate must be presented.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities linked to this contract are Phase II Site Investigation, Conducting preliminary risk assessments (phase 1 desk studies) and intrusive ground investigations, Managing Site Activities (Trial Pitting and Drilling Supervision), Logging to BS5930, Sampling of Soil, Chalk and Clay, and Effectively working in a team environment to meet deadlines and ensure high quality. The key skill however is ensuring Health and Safety on site and throughout the course of the project.
Skills and experience:
A key qualification that is necessary for this role is a NEBOSH certificate. A few key skills and experiences required to be successful in these roles are; BSc degree level qualified in geology or related environmental subjects, Be able to work well in a team, demonstrate a proactive approach, follow instructions and be self motivated, Good communication skills to liaise with other members of the project, CSCS Cards and Valid UK driving license
My client is looking to hire contractors in the coming weeks and will be looking for applications as soon as possible. The rewards of working for a Site Investigation company like this one, on some of the biggest projects in the UK, is not only monetary but also will allow you to build on previous experience, gain new knowledge and skills, and finally showcase your abilities through the input of new and innovative ideas.
