Job Details
The Endodontic Laboratory, located at Piracicaba Dental School of State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), São Paulo State, Brazil, offers a post-doctoral fellowship, for a 24-month period, supported by FAPESP.
The scholarships is part of the Thematic Project: Microbiomes and immunobiological aspects in endodontic infections coordinated by Professor Brenda Paula Figueiredo de Almeida Gomes. One of the objectives of this project is to investigate the microbiomes present in different types of endodontic infections and the immunological aspects involved in these infections, correlating them with the clinical aspects of the patient.
The deadline for receiving applications will be April 30, 2019.
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of BRL 7.373,10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.

Desired skills and experience
The PD candidate must have a PhD obtained less than 7 (seven) years and must have previous experience in microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and in statistical analysis as follows:
a) Experience with microbiological techniques, including, cultivation-independent analysis of microbial communities.
b) Experience with molecular biology techniques: PCR, qPCR, Sequencing, Flow cytometry and Multiplex ELISA.
c)Experience in bioinformatics: high-throughput sequencing - skills with platforms for large-scale analysis (MG-RAST and QIIME), phylogenetic analysis and genome annotation.
d)Experience in statistical analysis.
The candidates must submit the documents listed below:
a) Cover letter (describing the experiences acquired during graduation and post-graduation and the reasons for the interest in the vacancy);
b) Curriculum Vitae;
c) Two recommendation letters;
