Level A 67,894 - 91,425 ($68,912 - $92,796 effective 2 March 2019) per annum plus an employer contribution of 9.5% will apply.

This fixed-term contract is available immediately for 2 years.

The School of Computer Science

Offers high quality accredited degrees in computer science, and software engineering, has strong links with industry and a robust research ethos.

This role will involve the following duties:
  • Conduct research on the assigned project(s) with minimum supervision either as a member of a team or, where appropriate, independently, and the production or contribution to the production of conference and seminar papers and publications
  • Building and evaluating appropriate prototypes/testbeds based on the outcomes of the research to be carried out
  • Carry out the assigned teaching between 25% - 30% of the total workload for the position
  • Attendance at group and project meetings
  • Advice within the field of research to post-graduate students in consultation with the senior researcher


To be successful you will need:
  • PhD in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or closely related area (completed)
  • Demonstrated ability in conducting and publishing high quality research on one or more of the topics related to Design and Evolution of Secure Software and Resilient Software Systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Empirical Software Engineering, Secure Design and Validation for large scale Systems, Software Quality, Productivity and Decision making in secure software development, and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more programming technologies for software design and implementation for building and evaluating prototype tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting a research team by contributing to the mentoring of PhD and graduate/undergraduate students
  • Teaching experience, or potential, demonstrating both commitment and success in effective and inspirational participation in the teaching program of the school
